Privacy policy
The short version: we have no servers, so we have nothing of yours.

What Pawsword collects
Nothing. There is no account to make, no analytics, no crash reports and no network code in the app, so it has no way to send anything anywhere. On the Mac the app is built without permission to use the network at all, so macOS itself would stop it. At launch, the App Store privacy label will read "Data Not Collected".
One honest footnote: if you have switched on "Share With App Developers" in your device's Analytics settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports through App Store Connect. That is Apple's setting, not code in our app, and you can switch it off.
What stays on your device
Everything, and only there:
- Your vault: one encrypted file, locked with your master password.
- Backups of it, made before every change.
- A safety copy in your device's keychain, so deleting the app does not delete your passwords. It never leaves that device.
- Your settings, such as how long the clipboard waits before it clears.
Face ID and Touch ID are handled by Apple's system. Pawsword never sees your face or your fingerprint, and neither do we. If you back up your iPhone, iPad or Mac, that backup can include Pawsword's files, still locked. That backup is between you and Apple.
Purchases
You buy Pawsword through the App Store, so Apple takes the payment and sends the receipt. We never see your card, your name or your Apple Account. Apple tells us how many copies were sold and in which countries, never who bought them. If you share the purchase with your family, that is Apple's Family Sharing at work, and each person's vault stays on their own device.
The folder copy
Pawsword can keep a copy of your vault in a folder you choose, such as iCloud Drive, so your devices can share it. It is off until you turn it on. If you do, the folder's provider (Apple, Dropbox or whoever it is) moves the file under its own privacy policy. Pawsword does not move it, and we never see it.
The same goes for any copy you save or send yourself, by AirDrop, Mail or a USB stick. Once a file leaves the app, you decide where it goes. It stays locked with your master password wherever it lands.
The website
Visiting. This site is a few plain pages. We run no accounts and no analytics here, and we set no cookies. Like any website, it is hosted by someone else (Cloudflare), who sees your IP address when your browser asks for a page.
Fonts and friends. This page and the support page load only fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address too. The home page also borrows icons, animation code and a few logos from jsDelivr, cdnjs and Simple Icons, which see it as well.
The email form. The home page asks for your email so we can tell you the day the founder price goes live. It is stored in our own Cloudflare account, the same company that serves this page, and nowhere else. We use it for that and nothing else, and if you want it gone, write to us.
Children
Pawsword collects nothing from anyone, children included, so there is nothing to protect, share or delete. The email form on our website is for adults.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes too, and the change is written down here in plain words.
- First version.
Contact
Write to [email protected]. A person reads it. Pawsword is made by The Brandle, a small design studio in Dubai.
When you email us, we see your address and what you write, and we use them only to answer you. If you use Write to us in the app's Settings, it opens your own Mail app with the app version, your device model and your system version filled in, so we can help faster. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can read those lines and delete them first.
